Audrey II

For years now Little Shop of Horrors has made audiences scream with laughter. In exchange for fresh blood, Audrey II says she will grant whatever your heart desires. Production Services is proud to offer the complete set of Audrey II plant puppets from the recent 2003 Utah Shakespearean Festival production of Little Shop of Horrors to rent. Complete with all four pods, jacket, and masking green shroud, Audrey II will put the magic into your production. In addition to the full set of four Audrey II plant puppets, Production Services has available costumes!

Audrey II Pod 1

POD 1

Audrey II pod 1 is potted in a plastic flower pot complete with articulated wilting leaves. The hand puppet is operated after the plant is placed on a countertop/table or window seat with a hole in it. The puppeteer reaches from underneath and places his/her hand in the puppet. Leaves wilt by pulling on a ring on the back of the pot. The puppet can elongate or grow by the puppeteer extending his/her arm.

POD 2

Audrey II pod 2 is potted in a plastic flower pot with some added teeth and has grown slightly larger. A false right hand in a red jacket is attached to the flower pot. The puppet is operated by placing the actor's arm (hidden within the jacket) underneath the pot and through a hole with his/her hand to operate the mouth of the puppet. Extending of the arm can make the puppet elongate or grow.

Audrey II Pod 3

POD 3

Audrey II pod 3 is potted in a plastic pot measuring 42" in diameter and 11" high. A seat is placed in the pot. The puppet operator places his/her legs in brown/green branch leggings that extend from the pod. The pod is 46" high, 36" wide and 36" deep. The mouth is operated with puppeteer arm motion on an internal aluminium skeleton.

Audrey II Pod 4

POD 4

Audrey II pod 4 is no longer in a pot but lies directly on the set floor. The pod is 42" high and 48" wide and 78" deep. A green skirt attaches with Velcro to both the wall of the stage set, and the base of the pod. This skirt conceals the puppeteer and victims exiting the pod after being eaten. The jaw is operated by the puppeteer. To eat people the pod lies on the floor and the upper jaw is raised. Actors enter the plant and crawl between the puppeteer's legs and exit through the cut out in the wall.

Audrey II must travel by common carrier. Audrey II is shipped in two (2) ATA flight road cases. Case 1 is four feet; four and half inches (4’ 4-1/2”) by four feet; one inch (4’1”) by five feet; six inches (5’6”) (L x W x H) and weighs three hundred-eighty pounds (380 lbs). Case 2 is seven feet; eight inches (7’8”) by four feet; two and one half inches (4’ 2-1/2”) by four feet; seven inches (4’7”) (L x W x H) and weighs five hundred-sixty pounds (560 lbs). Production Services does NOT arrange shipping. All shipping arrangements must be made and paid for by the Lessee.
